This is Brian, walking the Airborne March of 1997, the world's largest one-day marching event.
This remembrance march is in commemoration of the Battle of Arnhem 1944 and held every year on the first Saturday in September at the village of Oosterbeek (near Arnhem) in The Netherlands. The Airborne March is intended to honour the 1700 British and Polish soldiers and airmen who lost their lives during the Battle of Arnhem and are buried at the Airborne Cemetery at Oosterbeek.
This part of the lyrics of Mindy Gledhill's 'Whole Wide World' (StM 200a) fits perfectly with the photo, and I embellished the layout with Brian's medal (including the wings of the next year march)
Dit is Brian tijdens de Airbornemars van 1997. Het stukje tekst van 'Whole Wide World' van Mindy Gledhill (StM 200a) past perfect bij de foto. Naast de foto zit Brian's medaille, met de wings van 1998 erop.
